Courses

 

wb00860_.gif (262 bytes)   English 9 - A genre-based course that includes the study of short stories, poetry, one novel, and a Shakespearean play. Descriptive and expository essays are written along with vocabulary development. A research paper is also required.

 wb00860_.gif (262 bytes)   English 10 - A Study of literary works from different cultures and time periods. Analytical and expository writings are emphasized along with vocabulary development. Research papers are done each semester.

 wb00860_.gif (262 bytes)    English 11 - A study of American literature. The focus is on persuasive, analytical, expository writing and developing critical thinking skills. Two novels are read, and a full research paper is written each semester.

 wb00860_.gif (262 bytes)    English 12 - The study of British literature. The focus is on analytical, expository, technical writing and developing critical thinking skills. Writing for college and the work place are emphasized. Book reviews and research papers are required each semester.

 wb00860_.gif (262 bytes)    13 AP Literature - A course that prepares students for the Advanced Placement exam. The focus is on reading, analyzing, and critiquing literature for the AP exam. Research papers are written each nine weeks.
