My main instrument:

Drums/Percussion. I started to play the drums at the age of two. I have been playing the drums for16 years. I was taught by my cousin by sitting on his lap while he held my hands. Everyone said I had a natural talent and a gift. After a couple of times of sitting on his lap, I took percussion up on my own. From year to year I have won talent show after talent show for just playing the drums.

My Instrument of Composition:

I have been in MidiLab for 3 years. I started out by making drum tracks for people. Then I learned how to play piano, keyboards and synthesizers, and work the computer and studio equipment.  I then began to make my own music. My first serious composition is "Adagio and Allegro," which is an experiment combining classical music styles with jazz.  I hope you enjoy my music.

NOTE: The "Composer of the Month" award is new, and is part of the year 2000 celebration which will be inaugurated in the GWHSOTA MidiLab on January 1, 2000. Each month, Richard Martin, MidiLab Coordinator, will honor one of our fine group of young composers who are excelling in the area of music composition, arranging, or research in the area of music composition.
