Linda Temple

     Ms. Linda Temple joined the George Wythe arts staff in September, 1998. She holds a BA degree in graphic arts from Hampton University. Ms. Temple also has a certificate in education from James Madison University. Additionally, she has earned 42 credits toward a masters degree in education from Virginia State University. She has worked on a masters degree in interior design and architecture through Virginia Commonwealth University and the Maryland Institute College of Art.

     Ms. Temple is a member of the state and national art education associations and the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts. She also holds professional memberships in the Richmond Education Association, the Virginia Education Association, and the National Education Association.

     Ms. Temple has designed CD and album covers for James "Plunky" Branch and Oneness and she did the artwork for Governor Chuck Robb's book on issues related to child custody, paternity and support. Ms. Temple also served on the graphic advertising staffs for the campaigns of Chuck Robb and Douglas Wilder. She has won numerous awards in graphic arts and photography contests. Ms. Temple was the first woman to design a logo for the Northern Neck Chamber of Commerce.

     Since coming to George Wythe, Ms. Temple has made tremendous improvements in the visual arts program, both to the quality of student artwork and to the appearance of the classroom. Ms. Temple strongly encourages her students to become involved in the community. To date her students have created artwork for a needy family and an area rest home. She and her students are also committed to producing two murals for community organizations-- one for the city's police force and another for a day care facility. Ms. Temple's students are currently preparing works for upcoming art competitions and for exhibits in the school's art gallery.

     Ms. Temple is a member of the Arts Calendar Committee, the Arts Newsletter Committee, and the Publicity Committee.
